History of video conferencing systems

A few things in this world today although started mainly on fancy grounds as just experiments to test scientific developments but with years rolling down, have converted into technologies we cannot do without. Developments in the field of telecommunication and satellite vision are the greatest examples of this tremendous leap from a basic world to this techno crazy one that we live in today.

Polycom video conferencing solutions one of the best in the business that provides an effective and trustworthy take on all related concerns all over the world. If we see the history of video conferencing, we find that the technology had a modest beginning in the mid-19th century where AT&T successfully conducted the first video call using its photo-phone. From then there have been quintessential developments in the direction and improvements in the compression, reception and the overall feel of it. Polycom video conferencing systems keep it light on your pockets too while giving you all the benefits of this modern day giant.

Hi, I am living in the USA, and my computer-illiterate parents in Singapore. I have a Mac, and would like to arrange for my parents to have an idiot-proof sort of setup where they can connect to a video conferencing setup here with a press of a button.

Now I have seen Polycom systems in action, while they work well, they are very expensive. Is there a cheaper solution these days?
Skype is a solution, but I am not sure my parents can manage it!

I am looking for business video conferencing software that can provide Multiparty Audio/Video Conferencing, White board and document sharing features for about 20 or more users.
I already did some research on Webex, skype, polycom, metil and MS Communicator but didn’t find the one I really like.
Anyone who had idea…please help me
I know Office Communication Server 2007 working pretty good, but the thing is not all my clients and other users having it. so that wil be a problem.

    http://www.htc.com/us/products/evo-sprint – HTC EVO

PROS: Lots of apps, on a fast network, touch screen, an over all great smart phone
CONS: There is no slide keyboard, I never had a phone without one so I don’t know.

    http://reviews.cnet.com/smartphones/samsung-epic-4g-review/ – Samsung Epic

PROS: Slide keyboard, touch screen, apps
Cons: The phone doesn’t contain as many apps as the htc evo, and the shape to me is a little odd. Plus it’s $50 more.
