I am having a reunion in Atlanta, GA in November. It has to be indoors and climate controlled and cheap- with a kitchen (or kitchenette). I would like it to be somewhere I can decorate and somewhere that I can either set up stuff for kids to do or built in entertainment (like a fair or the zoo). Any suggestions? My kitchen cupboards are currently white with black countertop. I need new flooring and it needs a fresh coat of paint however I’m very undecided as to if I should go dark or light with the flooring and what color I should paint the walls. I really like the darker flooring (Walnut or Chocolate) either the look of wood or tile. However I’m afraid it would make the room look too small. As for colors, I like greens but then again I always second guess myself when it comes to the shade.

New construction. I have selected a light colored hickory flooring and need to choose complementary cabinetry. I do not like cherry cabinetry and I am not sure what color options will work with such a light flooring.
I want to redo my kitchen. Its not too big. maybe 15′ by 10′. I want like gorgeous appliances like Subzero Freezer and Refrigerator. I want a double oven, a warmer, a microwave, a dishwasher, and a 5 burner stove. I also would like nice cabinets and granite counters. Just an estimate, what do you think this would cost?

My kitchen cabinets are the original ones and came with the house. While they may not look like the touched up ads we all see, they are not bad looking either. That is, except they badly need a new coat of stain or paint. I am wondering why this would be so hard that people order new cabinets instead or have Sears come out and change to doors. So, tell me. I am a simple project DIYer person and the square footage is not too big so I think I can do it, but want opinions.
